PROBLEM: KPMG is consolidating and enhancing current knowledge management tools and needs to architect leading edge solutions that can scale to tens of thousands of users. The new corporate knowledge management and collaboration tools will be based on Microsoft Windows 2000, Active Directory, IIS and Microsoft Exchange 2000. SOLUTION: Review existing applications and assist the Architecture group in developing new collaboration applications that leverage Microsoft Active Directory, unified messaging (Exchange), Web Services (Microsoft .NET), security and data access. Develop OLE DB Providers for existing proprietary data stores, and ensure that all components and applications can scale to support thousands of end-users.
