PROBLEM:
Hasbro Interactive's Vice President of Product Development needed to keep track of several vendors (game developers) who were building new interactive CD-ROM games. He needed a way to easily manage and quickly summarize information about vendors responsible for one or more projects by delivery date, estimated product revenue, development cost, platform, and other criteria.
SOLUTION:
Since the VP of Product Development wanted to manage the data and needed to have it available 'off-line' during business trips, we developed a schema to organize the raw data in one worksheet of an Excel 97 spreadsheet, and a series of Pivot Tables in separate worksheets that provided detailed and summary ('roll up') views of products and vendors.
